Dr. Kabita Baral has completed her Post Graduate in Geography from Utkal University. She has completed her M. Phil and Ph.D. from Centre for Regional Studies of University of Hyderabad. For her M.Phil she has worked on solid waste management and Environmental Justice. Her Ph.D is on the fishery governance at Chilika. ...
She has been serving as an Assistant Professor in the Post Graduate Department of� Natural Resources management and Geoinformatics of erstwhile Khallikote University since its inception and currently in the Department of Environmental Studies, Berhampur University. Prior to joining this department, she had also taught Geography at Regional Institute of Education, Bhubaneswar. She also has worked with University of Hyderabad, Commission of Inquiry of Government of Telangana, and Foundation for Ecological Society, Anand in various capacity. Her principal research interest is Natural Resources Governance and Environmental Geography. Currently she is running one project funded by DHE, Odisha. She has various research papers and book chapters in national and international publication to her credit . She also has attended many national and international seminars, conferences and workshops.
