Mission
- To introduce multidisciplinary courses and skilled-based courses like Special Papers in ELT, Environmental Humanities and Translation so that not only the range of knowledge and research widens but also the students become employable.
- To introduce self-financing courses in Communicative English and Soft Skills that would help both the Department and the University. One or two foreign languages could be taught as self-financing courses in the Language Lab.
- To make the Department a centre of excellence in interdisciplinary research with special programs like documentation and translation of indigenous culture and literature by way of contributing to the memory of the world.
- Organising Conferences in these areas and collaborating with UNESCO and other organisations so as to put the Department in the International map of English Studies.
