Dr. Laxmidhar Rout was born in Basudevpur, Bhadrak (Odisha) in 1976. Dr. Rout, has completed a Master of Science (MSc) at Utkal University with synthetic organic chemistry as a specialization under the guidance of Prof. Satyaban Jena. ...
He completed his Ph.D. under the supervision of Prof. Punniyamurthy at IIT (Guwahati) in 2008. He has had very good experience in organic synthesis (anti-cancer, anti-malaria molecule synthesis, and asymmetric synthesis) during his postdoctoral studies in the USA (Prof. A. M. Harned; University of Minnesota; Prof. C. G. Zhao; University of San Antonio, Texas), Technical University, Munich, Germany (Prof. S. M. Huber); and the Institute of Curie, France (Dr. Ludger Johannes and Dr. B. Emmanuel). He has been awarded the prestigious Alexander von Humboldt Fellowship in Germany and the FPGG and IC Fellowship of France at the Institute of Curie Cancer Centre, Paris. Dr. Rout is now an UGC-Assistant Professor at Berhampur University, Odisha. Dr. Rout has more than nine years of teaching experience with postgraduate students at Berhampur University, and he worked as visiting faculty at IISER Berhampur from 2019–2021. He has published more than 40 research articles with high impact factors in Wiley, Elsevier, RSC, and ACS journals. He has active collaborations with Indian scientists as well as international scientists.
