Dr. Mrutyunjay Jena has Completed his Graduation (B.Sc.) in Botany (Hons.) from Dina Krushna College, Fakir Mohan University, 2000, Post-Graduate, 2003 and Ph.D. in Botany from Utkal University, 2009. Dr. Jena has conferred with DAAD Fellowship by German Academic Exchange Service, in 2008, Post Doctoral Fellowship by IARI, New Delhi 2010, DS-Kothari Post Doctoral Fellowship by UGC, Govt. of India in 2011....

Since August, 2011, he is working as Asst. Professor in the Post Graduate Department of Botany, Berhampur University. His principal research interest is Biodiversity of algae, Molecular Systematic of algae, and algal biotechnology. He has completed three major research projects funded by Odisha Forestry Sector Development Project (OFSDP), Bhubaneswar, Govt. of Odisha, Science and Technology Dept. Govt of Odisha, Ministry of Environment and Forest & Climate Change, Govt. of India. Presently, three major research projects are ongoing funded by Collaborative Research Project, Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of Odisha, Science and Technology Department, Govt. of Odisha and SERB -SURE, DST, Govt. of India. He has guided 06 Ph.D. Students; 16 M.Phil. students and 41 M.Sc. students completed their dissertation under his guidance. Presently 4 Ph.D. students are continuing their Ph.D. degree under his guidance. Dr. Jena has published 75 research papers in international repute peer reviewed and impact journals, 5 chapters in edited books and authored 1 book. He has attended more than 50 National and International Seminars in India and in abroad and delivered lecture on his research work. He has organized 5 workshops and 5 conferences at Berhampur University. Dr. Jena is honorary reviewers of many scientific journals and he has reviewed more than 100 scientific articles in international repute high impact journals.
