Dr. Saswat S. Mohapatra completed his MSc in Microbiology from Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT), Bhubaneswar in 2003, and obtained PhD in Life Science from the DBT-Institute of Life Sciences (Utkal University), Bhubaneswar in 2010....

He did his postdoctoral research at the University of Kansas Medical Center (KUMC), Kansas City, USA (2009-2012) and the Interdisciplinary Research Institute, CNRS, France (2012- 2014). After returning to India, he served briefly at the CSIR- Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB) and DBT- Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics (CDFD), Hyderabad. He started his teaching career as an Assistant Professor at the SRM University, Chennai in 2016, and then moved to Khallikote University in 2018. Dr. Mohapatra has more than ten years of research/ teaching experience. His current research focus includes Antimicrobial Resistance and Epigenetic Regulation of the Bacterial Cell Cycle. Dr. Mohapatra has published several research articles in journals of international repute. He is a life member of the Association of Microbiologists of India (AMI) and Biotech Research Society, India (BRSI), and a member of the American Society for Microbiology (ASM) and British Society for Antimicrobial Chemotherapy (BSAC). He is also serving as Editor of the journals Frontiers in Microbiology and PLoS One and a reviewer of several journals.
