Dr. Tapan Kumar Barik received his Ph.D. Degree from University of Delhi in 2010. He started his research career as Project Coordinator at National Institute of Malaria Research, New Delhi and continued till 2011. In 2011, he joined as lecturer in the Post Graduate Department of Zoology, Berhampur University....

He was awarded with Raman fellowship for post doctoral research at Huck institute of Life Sciences by University Grant Commission for one year in 2013. He was awarded with best teacher award for his overall performance by the Berhampur University in 2016 and 2021. Six Ph.D and ten M.Phil scholars are awarded under his guidance. He has published more than 57 research papers in Journals of National and International repute. He has contributed several book chapters in the national and international books. He has submitted and published more than 150 gene sequences in NCBI gen bank. His research interest includes Vector Biology, Radiation Biology and Nanotechnology. During the last 12 years of active service in the Berhampur University, he has handled some key administrative positions like Coordinator-Biotechnology (SFC), Radiological Safety Officer, Member-DRDC, and Member-Board of Studies apart from the teaching activity in the Department.
