Tapan K. Singh Nayak has completed his M.Sc. in Biochemistry from the Department of Biochemistry, University of Hyderabad in the year 2009. He has qualified CSIR-UGC-JRF 2010 in Life Sciences and GATE 2010 in Life Sciences. ...
He is pursuing his Ph.D. from Dr. Reddys Institute of Life Sciences, University of Hyderabad. In the year 2018, he joined as an Assistant Professor in Khallikote University, Berhampur and since October, 2021 he is serving as an Assistant Professor in Berhampur University. His research area of interest precisely focuses on the molecular mechanisms underlying macrophage inflammatory responses. He has published his research work in several reputed peer-reviewed journals.
Macrophage inflammatory response and cell signalling- Immune responses/ inflammation is a tightly regulated processes required for the survival of the organisms. Our broad area of research interest lies in “Inflammation Biology”, in particular, to understand macrophage inflammatory responses and its various regulations dealing with innate immune response. The current focus of research is on Toll Like Receptor (TLR) signaling cascades and its post-translational modification regulations, particularly by ubiquitination and deubiquitination process.
Five students have submitted their dissertation as a part of their M. Sc. Program.
Part of the ongoing Centre of Excellence project at Berhampur University entitled “Bioprospecting of Ethnopharmaceuticals of Southern Odisha to explore their potential against cancer, infectious and autoimmune diseases.”
