Department Of Economics

The Department of Economics was established in 1972 with two years Master Degree Course in Economics.Prof. Ghanashyam Dash was the founding head of the Department. In order to encourage research activities, the M. Phil. course was introduced in 1979-80. The department also offers Ph. D. and D.Litt. programmes under the supervision of the faculty members. The special papers offered by the Department are Mathematical Economics, Econometrics and Industrial Economics and Financial Institutions and Markets

Mission
  • To provide advance knowledge to the PG and Doctoral students regarding economic theories and data analysis using computer software
  • To provide excellent academic, research, infrastructural and ICT based ambiance
  • To cultivate critical thinking among the students to spark creativity and innovation in young minds
  • To promote qualitative, effective and employment oriented methods of teaching and learning.
