Library and Information Science

The PG Department of Library and Information Science aims to develope as one of the best departments in LIS education landscape to provide quality education and professional training through its qualified and dedicated regular faculty members.The department offers Master in Library and Information Science (MLISc.) and PhD in Library and Information Science. Following the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS), the syllabus of the academic programmes have been designed primarily focusing on the students’ employability. The department conducts student-centric activities, i.e. seminar presentations, technical writing skills, internships to libraries of repute, and library visits to sharpen professional and academic development. Besides, the course of the department is designed to prepare the students for an illustrious career in research, academia, and in the corporate sector.
